Glade Art Updates Now on Blog Posts

Hello everyone, this is not Mr Glade (aka GojiGlade or GojiChad), instead I’ll be providing you with some news regarding old Glade Art update posts. So they used to be posted both on the Discord server and as regular posts here on Glade Art. However, that is changing.. here is why. For one, you don’t need to log in to the site to view the blogs. Easier access to users. Most major updates used to be posted here on Glade Art, some on Discord. Now it’s all going to be posted here on the Blog so that it’s all in one place. Not only is it easier for everyone, but also it’s neater and organized. Some of the old posts (if you’re so curious to see) were posted by “GojiChad” here on the site. So I've added a system which automatically watermarks your images (it can be turned off optionally too). Turn off watermarking on really small images btw, like if they're below 300x300 pixels. Or if you already have a watermark you made yourself, you can just turn it off too. Now of course a really persistent reposter could just crop out or remove the watermark with photoshop tools, but it just adds another layer of friction for them. So, question to you guys, should old posts all get watermarked? Only images over a certain resolution would be btw. Here is a list of the ones which I remember that I did: 1: sort by famous button on the feed. 2: New, fixed recommendations algorithm. 3: Sort by popular now uses view counts for priority sorting between posts with the same amount of likes. 4: Fixed and upgraded tar pit. ( gladeart.com/data-export ). The tar put is an endless maze of fake data which scrapers waste their resources on. It now doesn't require JS and is much more "overwhelming" with data than the old one. It now has a ton of bots which scrape it regularly, which is good. Also GRO got a bit of an upgrade too. 5: Anubis has been reconfigured to not run on the pages which can be accessed without login for search engine indexing to work again. I have been working on them for about a month already, and they have mostly now went public. But note: we are not fully finished yet as I am planning to add Anubis too, but that will be tomorrow or later. CAUTION! Avoid doing 404s as this arrests accounts after a certain limit is reached (7 per 24 hours). This is a big anti-bot measure for bots which manage to register. I haven't seen users encounter 404s on this site from normal use, but if something happens and you reach the limit no worries! None of your activity or posts are deleted, you just won't be able to login or use the site for a bit. These updates primarily consist of anti-bot measures to prevent your art from being trained on by AI. Additionally, this will be the date when the login walls will close up again. The login wall is what I call a requirement in order for a user to be registered and logged in in order to view other users' art and profiles. This requirement was temporarily removed in September for SEO and better advertising of the platform. Unfortunately, leaving artwork open to the internet like that makes it very easy to train AI on it, so they have to be closed back up; login walls are the most effective way to stop bots. Beyond this there is a massive stack of upgrades including stricter rate-limits, Anubis, randomized delays, JS requirements, and much, more. These updates will roll out on New Year's day. The site will be down for some time as I do some database migrations and stuff.
