Security & Privacy Policy

1. Data Protection

No user data is ever sold, and it is stored on our server(s). Passwords are hashed using PBKDF2 with HMAC‑SHA256 and a unique salt, making them resistant to brute‑force attacks. Although the messages are quite secure against prying eyes, it is still recommended to not transfer sensitive data over them such as credit card numbers or other highly sensitive information. Most likely nothing will happen, but please instead use the messages to share your email with someone, and then send sensitive data through there.

2. Information We Collect

  • 2.2 Upon registering, your email and [hashed] password are stored in the database. These are the fundamental credentials which are used to log into an account.
  • 2.4 All user generated content that you see including posts, comments, likes, views, etc is stored in the database.
  • 2.6 Technical data such as IP addresses and browser types. This is primarily for anti-bot measures.
  • 2.8 To be able to discern bots from humans easily, much activity on the site is logged and visible to the administrator(s). These logs are deleted regularly.

3. Your Rights

Glade Art does absolutely no AI training on any user-uploaded data. Scraping the site for any purpose is forbidden, and there are proactive measures against this. This platform does not have ownership over what is posted onto it; you completely own your art. If the post isn't your art, then the rights go to the original artist (you must properly credit them). Glade Art has a built-in automatic watermarking system onto post images which can be optionally turned off. While watermarking is not a fail-safe method to prevent image theft, it provides a small layer of friction to either erase the watermark text, or to crop it out. If someone steals your art and re-posts it as their own, then all you can do is have proof that you posted before they did.

4. A note regarding scraping.

Preventing images from being used for AI training is one of the primary goals of this entire platform. While anything online can in theory be scraped and stolen, at a certain point it becomes impractical to do so. Technically we cannot guarantee that your art won't be fed into an AI. But what we can guarantee is that we've implemented many anti-scraping measures that make harvesting images slow, difficult, and ultimately not worth the effort. These safeguards ensure that training an AI on artwork from this platform would be prohibitively hard, if not impossible.

5. Cookies.

Cookies used on Glade Art are only essential ones for anti-bot measures and session remembering. For example, if you login to GA, then your session will be stored in your browser because of those cookies.

6. Tips for security.

Always use a strong password with at least 10 characters, consisting of symbols, uppercase/lowercase letters, and numbers. Use unique passwords for every website, and avoid writing your passwords down in digital form. Instead, as strange as it sounds, keep your passwords written down in a physical notebook, on paper. A notebook is secure against all digital attacks. As far as physical password stealing, that is rare. Even if it happens, would they even be able to read your handwriting?!
